troubleshooting: removal + wear issues
having trouble removing your press-ons?
press-on nails are attached with nail glue or adhesive tabs, so a little patience goes a long way. here’s how to remove them safely without damaging your natural nails:
- soak your nails in warm water after a hot shower — the steam helps loosen the bond
- submerge fingertips in olive oil or vegetable oil for 30 minutes to gently dissolve the glue
- use a press-on nail remover solution (available at most beauty supply stores)
- as a last resort, soak in acetone — note that this will damage the press-ons and they won’t be reusable
press-ons not staying on?
fit and prep are everything. try these fixes:
- make sure your natural nails are clean, dry, and free of oils before applying
- follow each prep and application step carefully — skipping steps is the most common cause of lifting
- try a different size, shape, or length that better matches the curve of your natural nail
- use gap-filling nail glue to seal any edges that aren’t laying flat
